Google Rolls out Android 2.2
Irfan | July 29, 2010It is finally here Android 2.2 for our mobile phones, my HTC G2 updated last weekend, and now my phone is running the faster, slicker 2.2 operating system.
The update has seen improvements in the speed and performance of the operating system, as well as also improving the look and feel of the GUI.
My favourite update though is the support for Adobe Flash 10.1 – that’s right Apple support for Adobe Flash, this is the big one for me and where I feel the Android OS offers more than the Apple devices.
Flash is common now across the net and a mobile device which can’t support Flash for me is dated and not moving with the times! A news post from Steve Jobs from Apple however claims that this is not due to a clash between open source and closed source systems but rather the lack of support for Flash on iPods, iPhones and iPads is due to technology issues – further reading on this topic is required I think!
So Android 2.2 is here and rolling out across mobile devices in the UK – Android users keep your eyes open for updates and embrace the ‘Droid!!
